May Tournament – Tokyo
This is the current basho taking place in Tokyo. Results are updated once per day after matches are finished.
Day 15 Highlights: What a dramatic finish to the tournament on Senshuraku! Entering the final day, Ozeki Kirishima and Wakatakakage led at 11–3 with five other rikishi technically still alive at 10–4, leaving the yusho race completely open. Wakatakakage struck first by defeating Fujiryoga to reach 12–3, and Kirishima answered by overcoming Ura to force a playoff between the two leaders. In the deciding bout, Wakatakakage powered through Kirishima with dominant sumo to capture his second career yusho!

Top-Ranked Wrestlers
Yokozuna
The highest rank in sumo. It is a permanent rank awarded to champions who show consistent dominance and remarkable dignity on and off the ring.
Ozeki
The second-highest rank. Ozeki must maintain a winning record in every tournament to keep their status, or they risk immediate demotion.
Hoshoryu, Onosato
Kotozakura, Aonishiki, Kirishima
Sekiwake
The third-highest rank. Wrestlers at this level are often the final obstacle for opponents aiming to reach the prestigious Ozeki rank.
Komusubi
The fourth-highest rank. This is where rising stars face the toughest veterans to prove they belong in the elite San-yaku ranks.
